How we collect, use, and protect personal information.

Version 02 · Updated October 12, 2026

NY Computer Networks provides IT, networking, cybersecurity, digital forensics, consulting, and training services from Plattsburgh, New York. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or request our services. It also applies to the temporary website at tech2cl.ca/nycn/.

Information we handle

We may collect your name, email address, organization, inquiry details, service instructions and authorizations, technical notes, and billing information when services are arranged. We use this information to answer inquiries, discuss and provide services, communicate with you, and maintain necessary business records. We limit collection to information reasonably needed for these purposes.

Website and email

The contact form sends your name, email address, organization if provided, selected service, and message to our business inbox. It does not use a third-party form service. To limit repeat submissions, the server uses an IP-derived identifier and a timestamp. Our host may also process IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, and access or security logs to deliver and protect the website.

The website code does not set cookies or include analytics or advertising trackers. It does not track browsing across websites for advertising and does not change its behavior in response to a browser’s Do Not Track signal. It loads its typeface through Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address and request information when your browser retrieves the font. Google’s handling of that information is described in its own privacy policy.

If you use an email link, your email application sends the message through your email provider. Please do not send passwords, payment card details, confidential files, or sensitive incident evidence through the form or ordinary email unless we have arranged a suitable secure method.

When we work on your devices or systems

Authorized work may expose us to information in files, accounts, backups, logs, or business systems, including information about other people. We limit access to what the agreed work reasonably requires. Access, collection, copying, recovery, and evidence handling are governed by the engagement scope, your authorization, and applicable legal requirements. A service agreement may provide more detail about temporary copies, investigation materials, and retention.

Who may access information

Access is limited to people who need the information for the requested work or related administration. Hosting, email, and approved support providers may process necessary information for us. Their systems or personnel may be in the United States, Canada, or other countries, where different laws may apply. We may disclose information with your authorization or where required or permitted by law, including to protect legal rights or respond to a security incident.

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Protection, retention, and security incidents

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the work. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Inquiry, service, billing, and legal records are kept for the period reasonably needed for their purposes and applicable obligations, then securely deleted or destroyed. Temporary service copies are retained only for the agreed work, required follow-up, or legal requirements. If a security incident requires notification, we notify affected people and authorities as required by applicable law.

Your requests and concerns

You may ask us to review, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or raise a concern about how it is handled. We may verify your identity before responding. Requests are handled in accordance with applicable law; some records may need to be retained for ongoing services, legal obligations, or legal claims. The rights and response periods that apply depend on your location, the information, and the law governing the request.
